“The Crown Jewel of the Nations’ Rivers”. It is the first North Coast river to clear after a storm, making it fishable when all other rivers are blown out. Most fish caught here are in the 8-12 pound range, with larger fish common. The state record steelhead was caught here, 27 pounds 4 ounces. Twenty pound steelhead and fifty pound salmon are caught here on a yearly basis. This makes this river special in that on any cast, you could hook into the new state record.
